As you know we have been through quite the experience over the last month. Our most recent events include a most anticipated trip to Greece to see our friends and attend a church convention. When we got to the ticket counter at the airport, they wouldn't allow me to fly without a certified document from a Dr. I had no idea that most European airlines require a Dr. note after 27 weeks of pregnancy. I flew into Rome at 30 weeks and was never asked a question. With teary eyes we returned to our hotel room in Rome. It was at this point that the reality of being "stuck" started to sink in. The good news is, United and Aegean airlines allow you to fly up to 36 weeks. We needed to reconsider our options........With the war still continuing in Israel and the end being unpredictable, we have decided that it is best for our family to fly back to the states to have the baby. It is important that the families here remain "mobile" (ability to leave within 24 hours) and we are getting to the point of not being able to be so mobile. I am 33 weeks preggo and this mama is ready to sit down, put her feet up and wait for this baby.
We decided it best to fly back to Israel, unpack, wash, repack and gather a few items that would make our trip back to the US a bit more comfortable. It has been a beautiful weekend here and it feels so peaceful coming back, which isn't helping with the leaving process. None of us want to leave, but we know that it is for the best.
It is with heavy hearts that we leave our coworkers, friends and neighbors behind. Our thoughts and desires certainly remain in Israel. This is probably one of the hardest decision that we have had to make. We are so hopeful for those that stay here that peace will be restored soon and life can go back to how it was when we arrived. Hang in there my friends!!
We fly tomorrow morning back to AZ and will stay in a temporary spot until we can find a more "permanent" spot for the next 3 months. Wish us luck. :)
Again, we are so thankful for all the kind thoughts and prayers extended on our behalf. It has been quite an amazing journey!
